This is a limited edition 7×9 inch Giclee print of a painting of a mug shot from a book of black and white crime photographs originally painted on a paper sack. These images are haunting and evocative, each face unknown – their story unknowable, yet begging to be told. The bright saturated colors of the image conveys a slight sense of the ironic, with what must have been a very drab future in a prison cell.

Most of the mug shots range between the 1890’s to the 1950’s.
