My name is Alison Brownrigg and I’m a stay-at-home-momma living in West Seattle with a penchant for shopping, an eye for design and a desire to support my local creative community.
I started Petaline with my friend, Karin in February of 2006. We decided to close up shop for a bit after I had my baby and Karin found out she was pregnant. Now I run Petaline while Karin focuses on her baby and her art.
The New Petaline has a singular focus on emerging artists and designers from the Pacific Northwest, including Seattle, Portland and Vancouver, BC. I have developed friendships with many of my vendors and pride myself on working with people who care about where they source their materials and, if they contract for manufacturing, who they work with. Communities like Seattle and Portland are emphasizing the importance of supporting local farmers and other food sources and I believe it is just as important to support our local creative community. I’m happy to bring the unique and innovative vision of my local designers and artists to the rest of the world via the World Wide Web.
I hope you enjoy your visit.
